Brian's Birthday Bash

Brian is now officially -7/30. For those of you who that doesn't make any sense to, he's 37. Melissa and Eric were going to be in town from Philly so we decided to meet up with Jen and Michelle for the day. Since Brian was nice enough to let me have a mini sorority reunion on his birthday, we were nice enough to go to Lagunita's so he could celebrate with beer! It was so great to see the girl's and catch up with the hubby's. It's almost been 8 years since I graduated from college but once we started down memory lane, it seems liked it was just a year ago. Wow, we had some good times back in the day!

After Lagunita's we came back to the house for a BBQ with the Macway's and DeShazer's. The boys (both big and small) had fun playing in the backyard and being crazy. Jen and Michelle introduced the little ladies (Zoe and Alex) and even though they were too little to run around, they had fun looking at each other. I think Zoe was just excited to see someone her size!

Brian's Birthday Cake

Andrew wanted to make Brian his birthday cake this year so I let him (with lots of help from mommy!). We went to the store and he picked out the "sparkle" cake mix. As soon as we got home, Andrew wasted no time making daddy's cake. He was so excited and did a really good job.

Air Show

What better way to spend the day with my two airplane enthusiasts than go to the airshow! Andrew and Brian were both in heaven watching the plans and being immersed in all things aviation.

I don't know who was happier to sit in the planes, Brian...

or Andrew!

Girls Weekend 2011

Girls Weekend 2011 was a little different this year; Ali was in Novato with the boys, Michelle was starting teaching again and Paige was in Bass Lake. Jen and I didn't let that slow us down and we kept the tradition alive. We added stand-ins this year since we were traveling a little light and brought my cousin Alex and Michelle and Trevor. It was another great trip to Tahoe and the boys all had a great time. Alex got a taste of what motherhood would be like, she even got the pleasure of waking up with Andrew and Grevin at 1:30 in the morning! We had an action packed weekend going swimming, making candles, Build-A-Bear, eating ice cream and hunting for pine cones to make bird feeders. It was a great trip!

Andrew picked out his pine cone!

Best Friends in Tahoe. I can't wait until they are 18 and we still make them walk hand-in-hand to get a cute picture. :)

The boys wasted no time, found the creek and took off their shoes.

Grey found his pine cones.

Don't worry Oma, we cleaned up all the bird seed that fell on the floor!

The boys were so excited about making their animals. Grey got a kitty, Andrew got a lion and Trevor got a giraffe.

Alex made a candle at the candle store. It was a lot of fun and came out really cool.

Trevor loves his giraffe.

I think the boys ate more peanut butter than they used spreading it on the pine cones.

Pool Time!

Jen took Zoe back to the condo to take a nap and my job was to entertain the boys and keep them alive. After a successful trip to the pool, I thought they needed some pizza and ice cream! (They think I'm pretty cool now)

Cousins in Tahoe

Not sure why this picture is out of order but you can see how much fun the boys had at the pool.

Fun at the Fair

It's summer which means the fair must be in town! Each year it is getting more fun (and more expensive!) to take Andrew to the fair. This year we packed an entire day in with horse racing, carnival rides, corn dogs, carnival shows and checking out the animals. Brian taught Alex how to bet on the ponies and if they took bets for the last place horse, they would have been experts!!

Mike, Priscilla and Sophia met us in the afternoon. We all had fun checking out the animals.

Scott scored us some great box seats to watch the horse races!

Andrew's first roller coaster. He LOVED it!

Alex is here!

Alex is in town and we are SO excited that she is here. She is going to be staying with us for 2 weeks and I'm looking forward to all the help she will give me. On Sunday, we had a family dinner to celebrate Tim's birthday. It was nice to have the family over and get together.

Trying to get Andrew and Grandpa looking at the same time was challenging. At least Alex and I look good!

Alex made Tim a car cake. It was really cute!

Let's go canoeing!

Brian and I tried to think of a fun activity that we could do while Andrew was in Texas. We decided to go canoeing on the Russian River. They won't let kids go until they are 5 so it was a perfect mini trip to go on while Andrew was away. I'd never been canoeing on the river and Brian used to go all the time as a kid. I'd been warned by coworkers that there was actual skill involved and that there was a high chance that we might tip it over. I was a little nervous that we may not be talking after our "cruise" but we did a great job and had a ton of fun. The day was perfect, not too hot and there wasn't anyone else out since we went during the week.

Safety First!!

Still smiling at the end of the day!
