We need a memory booster!

Brian and I went to see Harry Potter today and when we got out of the movie, we couldn't remember where we parked the car. We walked down two different aisles until we realized the car wasn't in either of them! Does anyone know where we can get some Ginko Biloba?

Weekend Fun on the Houseboat!

My First Time Fishing
(I only caught seaweed!)

Capitan & Skipper Michelle's

The Houseboat Crew

This weekend we went to the Delta with Greg and Michelle. They were nice enough to invite us up and hang out. We had a ton of fun!! We got there Friday night and had a great BBQ. The boys were both tired and fell asleep early. Greg fell asleep midway through a converstation while he was talking! (Brian fell asleep before the conversation even started). Michelle and I used the quiet time to lay out and look at stars and talk "girl talk". When we went to wake up the boys to go to bed Greg said: "No, I don't want to go, I'm going to bed now." Clearly his was a sleepy smurf and had no clue what was happening.

Saturday we spent the day hanging out and wakeboarding. They even managed to get me out on the wakeboard for a short amount of time. I think I have more fun being the boat skipper and official photographer! It is still fun to get up on the wakeboard every now and then. I do fine getting up, it is staying up I have a problem with!!

Thanks to Greg and Michelle for a great weekend. Hopefully we can do it again soon!

Bella Needs a Home.....Fast

Bella needs someone to come and take her away very quickly. I bought a new rug for the front of the couch to try and keep the carpet clean. Bella just came running into the house, went straight to the rug and peed on it! She hasn't had an accident in the house for months. I don't think this is any "accident" either. She knew exactly what see was doing. She is now sitting in her crate thinking about what she did.

Yard Work is Not Easy!

The New Side Yard without Stumpy
So the picture may not look like much to everyone but to Brian and I it was a day of some of the hardest work we've done in a long time! Since we had the huge stump removed, Brian decided we needed to have a garden. We go to Lowe's to get everything we need: good dirt, sprinkler supplies, stuff for a fence to keep out Bella, and of course seeds. We look everywhere and find out they are sold out of seeds and they aren't going to get anymore because we are about 2 months late for putting in seeds! Never fear I tell him, I have some at home from last year. Even though we are a few months late and the seeds are a year old we decide to give it a try anyways. It took all day and a lot of work but we finally leveled the ground, built the fence, installed a drip system and planted the seeds. As you can see, the fence doesn't quite make it so we still have to finish that. I didn't have any pumpkin seeds (the one plant Brian really wanted) so I ordered them online. They should be here in 1 week and then our garden will be complete! Brian promises me that all of the wood you see in the background will go away in November when he goes camping with the boys. I'm taking bets now to see if that really happens. I'll start the betting with a NO!
Stay tuned to see if any of the seeds actually grow....

Goodbye Stumpy

I am so excited right now. Here I was sitting on my couch watching TV when some guy comes and knocks on the door. I put Bella away and wonder what this guy is selling and how long is it going to take to get rid of him. He hands me a card and says "I was driving by and noticed you have a tree stump in your front yard!" I end up scaring the guy half to death jumping up and down saying you get out tree stumps!?! Come look at the one in the back yard!! This guy now thinks I'm a total nut but follows me to the back yard.

At this point I am thinking; Michelle...what are you doing? a) taking a strange guy in your backyard when Brian is not home- not a good idea b) we've already priced this out and it is going to cost way more money than we have right now. Still I show him the stump and pray he doesn't tell me it is going to cost $900 like the last guy.

You better be sitting down for the next part.

He says "for $300 I will take out the stump in the back, level it off and take out the stump in the front." ARE YOU SERIOUS!! 1 small catch (come on, you knew there was one coming), I have to pay cash and he has to do it now. I don't care why he needs cash and why he has to do it now I am just happy that my stumps are going away. Small problem, we don't have cash just lying around the house but that's ok because Brian is at the Aleworks and can bring it home with him. For once, him being at the Aleworks has done some good!!

Now I have to call Brian and tell him I just made a deal to spend $300 to get the stumps removed that he has been promising me for a long time to do himself. I get my nerve and call his cell phone all prepared to be told what a crazy wife I am spending money when I don't have to. I tell him the story and he says "That's all he's going to charge? Great, I'll be home soon!!"

The guy is grinding away as we speak. Goodbye ugly tree stump in the backyard!!

Here goes nothing!

OK, here I go. I'm going to try this whole blogging thing. This will be your one-stop-shop to see the latest and greatest happenings at the Wing household.

This last weekend was pretty easy going. We mostly just hung around the house. Saturday Scott and Michelle came over and we had an little BBQ. On Sunday, we went flying with Bob & Sharon. I hadn't been in Bob's plane yet so we decided it was about time. There is a diner in Auburn called the Wing Cafe so we decided we better go try it out. Brian was excited because Bob let him take off and fly the plane on the way up. Bob took over the controls for landing though!

Well, that's all for now. Keep coming back to learn more!
