Andrew - 7 years old

Dear Andrew,

7!  You are 7 today!  I've been telling you all week I'm going to stop time and keep you six forever.  Your biggest concern is that you won't have a birthday party.  Since I'm always up for having a good party, I've told you that we will have a party celebrating you are going to be 6 forever!

Every day you are less my little baby and instead becoming my little man.   You are an independent and caring little boy.  Caring and sweet are the words that people use to describe you.  You care about how people are feeling and you love to take care of your stuffed animals and Bella.

Your imagination continues to grow.  At any given time our house is completely turned into a veterinary hospital, a city dump (complete with dump trucks), a horse racing track, and many other creations you come up with.  A cardboard box is the beginning for you and you can cut/tape/paste/glue/draw/paint them into the most amazing things.  In addition to boxes, you are still a paper airplane master and continue to amaze us with your skills.  You've broadened your horizons from paper airplanes and can make just about anything from paper and tape now.  Some of the most memorable creations from this year were a flute, riffle, and electric guitars.  For holidays people ask me what to get you and I tell them paper and tape!

You love first grade.  Your favorite part is Mad Minute where you have to do 15 math equations in 1 minute.  You love addition, but not subtraction.  It's ok, it's only first grade!  You also love science!  This year you learned about the solar system, rocks, mapping, and about the earth.  You tell everyone you are going to be one of the greatest scientists in the world when you grow up.

You are a full fledged skier now.  There isn't a run that you can't go down at Northstar and you have passed mommy up.  Your favorite ski runs are the jumps and Lookout Mountain.  You also like to stop at the lodge and get a hot chocolate.  :)   You are a good skier and have dropped snow plowing and have started parallel skiing.  The hardest part of the day is trying to convince you to go in at the end of a fun day of skiing.  I love that you love to ski.  You tell people we are a skiing family!

Even though you are growing up, you still love to snuggle in the morning and watch cartoons with me on Saturdays.  You are kind and gentle and have a great curiosity for life.  I couldn't have asked for a more perfect little boy!

Mommy loves you with all my heart.

Love,
Mommy
