24 Months Old

1

Dear Andrew,

How do I even begin to put the last year years into words? It has been an amazing adventure filled with laughter, learning and the occasional tear. You have grown up so much in the last year and have learned to be a very independent boy. You are talking up a storm now and most of the time we can understand what you are saying. If we can't understand what you are saying, we quickly try to figure it out because it normally will end in tears with you getting frustrated. You are a pretty good listener and try to do whatever we ask you.

To say you love cars and airplanes is an understatement. If there is a car or airplane in sight of you, you will quickly pick it up and zoom across the room making the appropriate noises. If we are outside and you hear a plane, you will quickly look up into the sky and point it out. Daddy said we brainwashed you into liking planes but I prefer to say we gently guided you down the path!

Cars is your favorite movie right now and you would watch it every day if we let you. Mommy and daddy know all of the words by heart. It's a good thing that we like the movie too! The best part is that you laugh when one of the cars does something funny. When the cars are racing around the track, you like to make the vroom vroom noise with them.

You sure do like to shake your little booty! Whenever you hear music you dance around with a huge smile on your face. You will kill me one day for telling everyone this but your favorite songs is "All The Single Ladies" the Chipmunk version. When you hear that song, you totally rock out and laugh! I'm still trying to get it on video.

You've had a very busy year with trips to Tahoe (you love the snow), plane rides to Texas and Gma and Oma watching you while mommy and daddy went away. You are so easy going and love everyone that it makes traveling and vacationing very easy.

We'll find out your exact "dimensions" on Thursday when you have your check-up but I think you are still on the small size. 18 month pants won't stay up on your little bum! They slowly slip down and it looks like you are a baby gangster. Most of your teeth are in now. You still have your molars to go. One of them is starting to break through and I'm hoping it doesn't give you too much trouble.

You are such a joy to mommy and daddy. I love waking up in the morning and seeing your bright smiling face. Your laugh is infectious and can make me melt. You've started to perfect the art of pouting but we're hoping that you just skip that stage completely (one can always dream right?).

Thank you my little monkey for being the best baby in the whole world! You will always be mommy's little baby boy and it is a privilege to be your mommy.

Here's to another great year!
Love,
Mommy
