Moving up and out!

Well, it's official. I am now the Hospitality Event Sales Manager. After two weeks of meeting after meeting our CEO has promoted me to the new position. Our old event manager left the company three weeks ago and I've been doing my job and his job for the last three weeks. Before I was responsible for the coordination and operation of events as well as overseeing the tasting room. Now I am responsible for selling the events as well as overseeing the coordination and operation. The good news is that I don't have to oversee the tasting room anymore!! The most exciting part is not having to worry about their work schedule. I HATE having to make schedules and deal with people calling in sick.

Part of the deal is that I have to move offices. My office will now be in with the CEO and Chariman of the Board. There are three offices in their building and 1 is empty so that is where I am going. Wish me luck!!

A-L-P-H-A X-I D-E-L-T-A, Alpha Xi Delta the best sororoity!

It's that time of year again. Time for school to start and girls to rush sororities. This single event is hands down the most tiresome, wearing and stressful time of any sorority girl's life.

The normal life of a sorority girls is as follows: go to school, rush a sorority, spend the next 4 years having the time of your life, graduate, get a "real" job and possibly keep in touch with a few sisters. Do I live this normal life? No, I decided one day I needed something to keep me busy besides work so I volunteered to be the membership advisor. Yep, I'm crazy. I willing volonteered to partake in the craziest time of all.

For all my sorority sisters out there reading this here are the details:
204: number of ladies signed up for recruitment
38: quota (no that is not a type-o)
40: number of ladies we matched bids with!! (yep, 2 OVER total)
#1: top sorority during recruitment

For everyone else:
We had the most girls ever sign up to go through recruitment
The number of girls that we were allowed to offer a place in our sorority was the largest ever!
We gave out 40 invitiations to ladies to join our sorority.
We haven't always been the best at recruitment and this year we kicked everyone else's butt.

OK, I've now been up since Thursday and I need some sleep. I think it should take about 4 days for the sorority songs to completey get out of my head.

Ponder this...

Nothing exciting has happened in the Wing household lately so I thought I would post something a little different for all of my readers...

2 tough questions

Question 1: If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Read the next question before looking at the response for this one.

Question 2: It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three candidates. Who would you vote for?

Candidate A. Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologist. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B. He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon , used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C. He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be our choice? Decide first... no peeking, then scroll down for the response.

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion question: If you said YES, you just killed Beethoven.

Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone.

Let's Go Niners!!

Getting Ready to Go
Yippee! The Niners Wone!

Having some fun after the game!

I went to my very first professional football game last night. It was a lot of fun. It took us 3 hours to get to the park but it was well worth it. It took 1 whole hour just to get from the freeway offramp to our parking spot! Instead of sitting in the crazy traffic trying to get out of the park at the end of the game, we decided to have a post tailgate party.
Good times!

Wild Women in Tahoe!

Girls Weekend 2007 was a huge sucess! We all had so much fun. I used to spend almost every day with these ladies and now I'm lucky if I see them more than twice a year. When we get together though, it seems like we all just saw eachother yesterday. The jokes, memories and good times start from the very beginning and don't stop until the front door gets locked at the end of the weekend. You can definatly tell that times have changed though...instead of the converstation being centered around last weeks fraternity party, who is dating who and the outfit that someone wore it is more about interest rates and mortgages. Time hasn't changed too much though because we're still talking about what people are wearing!

Not to get too sentimental but I consider myself a lucky girl. There are not many people who can say they have 5 best friends. (Don't worry Paige, you are still the bestest!!) These ladies have seen me at my best and worst and I'm amazed they all still answer their phones when I call! I am so lucky and happy to know that at least once a year, we can all still get together, let our hair down, relax and talk about the "good days."

Cheers ladies and here's to next year!

I'm a softie!

Brian needs to come home soon. Bella seems to know the minute he is no longer in the house and takes full advantage of me being a push-over. Her new "fun" activity is to bark non-stop at her treat jar. She sits on the floor staring at it and barking until I either a) manage to catch her and put her in her crate or b) I give in an give her a treat. I know that b is not a good solution but it makes her quiet!

Well today starts tough-love mommy because Brian is coming home and she needs to be a good dog again. I have now been listening to her bark non-stop for seventeen minutes. She has gotten herself in such a tizzy now that she is running around the table and barking at her treats. She also occadionally looks at me like I am the most horrible person in the world for not giving her a treat.

God help me once I have a kid to deal with. Perhaps I should just stick with the "doggy" kid I have now!!
