Girl's Weekend - Part Two

Andrew was such a great helper with the babies. He was teaching Hayley how to play with the bouncy chair!

The pool was a little chilly so Ali and I took the babies to the hot tub.

Taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain. The gondola's are so much roomier without ski clothes, boots and polls in the way!

What a happy little boy!

Girls Weekend 2009 - Part One

It's that time of year again when we invade Northstar for our annual Girl's Weekend. We've been going for five years now and each year brings new memories and lots of fun. This year was the biggest change since all five ladies that went had a baby. Jen and Karla both stayed clear this year from the chaos! I don't blame them, it was a little overwhelming!!

Jennie didn't completely get out of Girl's Weekend. We stopped in Roseville and had lunch at Mary's with her. When the three of us lived together, we used to have Mary's every Wednesday night. A lot has changed since those crazy days!

Since we couldn't go to the Bar of America in Truckee, we had to settle for the Chocolate Bar up in the Village. We sat around the fire pit, had chocolate fondue and cocktails. All of the babies did great watching their mommies relax.

College Playdate

Paige came into town on Tuesday and we thought it would be fun to meet some of our sorority sister's children. We all keep in touch via blogging but there is nothing better than seeing all of the kids in person. It was so much fun getting the kids together and watching them all play and run around. The youngest was 6 weeks old and the oldest was 3. Last time I saw Kimi and Holly, we weren't even married and how we all have little ones running around!

Date Night

Before work starts for me and school starts for Brian, we decided we needed to go on a date. Who knows when we will be able to go out again once our busy schedules start. After dropping Andrew off at Lee and Darlene's (thanks guys!) we were off for a fun-filled evening.

We started by going to a wine bar and trying some local, small lot wines.

Then it was off to dinner at La Gare, our favorite restaurant. We met this great couple who was on vacation and talked with them for a good part of the evening. They are from Mexico and speak English very well. Brian wanted to practice his Spanish so he kept switching between English and Spanish throughout the conversation.

Lupie was asking us for recommendations for dinner the next night and we gave them some good places to try out. Brian was trying to explain to them that some of the places were a little expensive. Lupie had the best response I've ever heard: "It's not expensive if you enjoy yourself." I think this might be my new response when Brian says no because it is too expensive. Thanks Lupie!!

Fair Animals - Take 2

Michelle and I headed out to the fair again today. I have to make the most of my last week of "vacation"! Andrew fussed again around the animals but today it was when it was time to leave. He LOVED the animals today and couldn't get enough of them. We saw cows, goats, sheep, pigs and deer. The petting zoo was a huge hit and Andrew just ran around squealing in delight. Because he was such a good boy, we decided that he needed to try some cotton candy. At first he was a little confused and not too into it but once he got used to the texture, he kept asking for more. I may have given him a little too much because instead of taking a nap right now, he is singing in his crib!

The Hall of Flowers is my favorite part of the fair. I wish someone would come and make our yard look this cool.
Happy Andrew with Happy California Cows

*Just a clarification- this is a Steer, not a cow! The 4-H girl corrected me while Andrew was petting him.

Andrew loved the little piggies. Maybe he will ask for one for Christmas. I'm sure Bella would love a new friend! I doubt Brian would have a problem with it. ;)

This little piggy is chasing me!
Andrew getting his first taste of cotton candy. He's not to sure what to think of it.

Yumm, pure sugar!

More please!

Getting nice and sticky!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Back To Work I Go!

Starting Tuesday August 18 I will be a working girl again! I just accepted a position at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards as their Homeplace Manager. Currently they are not open to the public but they are going through the steps right now to open a tasting room in October. I will be heading up that project and managing it once it is open. The company is owned by Brown-Foreman and publicly traded on the NYSE so all of you stock holders, start buying up your shares now because the price is just going to skyrocket once I'm on board!! Brown-Foreman's brands include Jack Daniels, Finlandia Vodka, Southern Comfort, Woodford Reserve, Fetzer and a whole bunch more. Sonoma-Cutrer is located on Slusser Rd. in Windsor right by the airport. In fact, when you are at the winery the planes fly so low overhead it looks like you can touch them! The only downside is they only make Chardonnay and Pinot but I guess that means I just need to broaden my pallet a little and start liking some new varietals!

Wish me luck!
