December Holiday Fun

We've been busy getting ready for Christmas and having fun!  Andrew is in full Santa mode and has a list a mile long for the big guy.  The super mom I am, I keep reminding him that he wants a battleship (Santa has already had his elves busy building a battleship!).  Here is a quick review of what we have been up to:

Andrew helped decorate the Christmas tree.  He spent more time wrapping himself in garland than helping with the tree!

Rohnert Park public safety had their annual Santa parade again this year.  We went with Grevin, Zoe and Ripley to see Santa.

Jen got the idea to make Christmas Trees instead of Gingerbread houses.  It was so much easier and so much fun!
*This Christmas moment brought to you by Korbel.  :)

I think the kids ate more frosting than actually went on the trees!

Ski Season has begun!

Ski season has begun! There isn't much snow but we didn't let that stop us! We headed up to Tahoe for Thanksgiving to meet with Oma, Gma and Gpa. Even though there wasn't very much snow, Brian and I headed up skiing and get some use of our season passes. The snow wasn't very good and super slushy towards the bottom so we told Andrew he could do skiing next time. It was a perfect long weekend hanging out with family, relaxing and having fun. The highlight of the weekend was when Andrew and Gpa took a trip on the train to Reno. Andrew was so excited and had a great time riding the train.

Who needs snow to ski?

Hanging up at the village eating smores and having a cocktail

Andrew enjoyed the s'mores!

Gpa and Andrew had a fun afternoon in Truckee and going on the train.
Only Gpa would think it is a good idea to put your grandson's head on the train track!  They were listening for the train.  :)

The train is here!

Andrew liked waving to the cars outside.

We made it to Reno!

Safari West

Wild Animals in Santa Rosa! Andrew, Alex and I went out to Safari West today to see the animals and play. It rained all weekend but Mother Nature was nice and held off for a couple of hours while we roamed around and hung out with giraffes, lemurs, rinos, birds and all other sorts of African animals.

Trick-or-Treat

We didn't let a little rain stop us this Halloween!  Trevor came over and we hit the streets to go collect some candy.  Our neighbor, Natalie joined us this year for trick-or-treating.  The kids all did great, despite the rain and ran from door to door nicely asking for candy.  It was a great night!

Halloween Fun

It's Halloween time.  Or, as Andrew says "It's Halloweenie!"

We had a fun filled weekend packed of Halloweenie activities.  Andrew's preschool had a Fall Festival on Saturday for all of the preschool families.  The Macway's came up to party with us and help with the festival.  We sent the dad's up at lunchtime to help with the cooking and Michelle and I took the kids up later in the afternoon.  The dad's had a great time cooking with the Dad's Club and Greg even got an honorary membership!

The festival was so much fun.  It was geared towards the kids so once we got there, Brewer, Andrew and Alex just ran around and we didn't have to worry about where they were.  They played games ran by the 6th graders, participated in the costume parade and danced around.  Andrew was a lucky boy because Scott, Michelle, Trevor, Lee and Darlene came to party too!  It was a great event and we can't wait until next year to do it again.

On Sunday, the DeShazers had us over for their annual pumpkin carving party.  It was a great afternoon carving pumpkins and playing with friends.
