4th of July

We had an action packed 4th of July weekend. On Sunday morning we went to Karla's house to go swimming. It took Andrew a little bit to warm up to the pool (which was surprising because he normally jumps right in) but once he got used to being in the water, we couldn't get him out! Thanks to Karla for having us over, we can't wait to come back.

Sunday afternoon we went to Lee and Darlene's for a BBQ. The boys had a great time playing in the splash pool and staying cool. It's been 90+ degrees here everyday so the cool water is a nice break from the heat!
After Lee and Darlene's we went up to Windsor to see the fireworks. This was Andrew's first time going to see fireworks at night. Can you see how excited he is to be going....
Once we got there he was ready to go! We played in the park and then set up camp in the back of Brian's truck to wait for it to get dark. Andrew had a GREAT time and was so excited to watch the fireworks go off.


On Monday we were supposed to have a BBQ at our house but Andrew had gotten sick on the way home from the fireworks (I'll spare you the details of that story!) so we had to call it off. Lee and Darlene were brave enough to come over and celebrate with us though. Thanks for coming over last minute, Andrew was so excited to have friends over to play.

The neighbors came out to watch daytime fireworks with us. Since Andrew had a couple of late nights, I wanted him to go to bed at a relatively decent hour that night.
