Wild Babies!

Yesterday, Andrew and I had our playgroup friends over. We've been a part of this playgroup since Andrew was only a month old and it has been so much fun to see the babies growing up and forming friendships. Andrew is the youngest one in the group but he doesn't let that stop him from getting in the action and making new friends!

Happy Birthday Darlene

Sunday was Darlene's birthday so we had the Wing's over to celebrate. I tried to make another fancy cake using fondant but it didn't come out too fantastic so there are no pictures to share. I clearly need a little more practice with the stuff before I try it again!!

Date Night

Brian and I got a fantastic present the other day, out friends Jen and Zippy insisted that they come over and babysit while Brian and I went on a date. We were so excited and quickly took them up on their offer on Saturday. Brian and I went to Sante restaurant at the Fairmont in Sonoma. I had a gift certificate otherwise we would have never been able to splurg like that, even if I still had a job! The dinner was fantastic (5 star service is never bad!!) and it was so nice to have an adult night out. Thanks Jen and Zippy for giving us a date, we owe you one soon!!

Leaving on our date!!

Instead of giving you mints with your check, they give you an entire box of sweets!!

Please sleep

Andrew,

Letters to you are normally only sent once a month on the 24th to reminisce about another month going by and to see how much you have grown. But, like everything there are exceptions to the rule and today is one of them...

We must talk about your sleeping patterns. You have a great schedule during the day, I don't want that to change at all. What we need to change is your night time sleeping pattern. Up until Christmas, you were sleeping through the night. I would put you down at 7:30 and you would wake up around 7 the next morning. After Christmas we went to Tahoe and you woke up a couple of times a night. Not that big of a deal, we were in a strange place and you were in a new crib. Then we came back home and you tricked me by sleeping through the night a few times and then waking up a few times. OK, I thought, you were just getting back into your routine. Then you got a cold and once again, you were up two or three times every night and it hasn't stopped since then! I've tried letting you put yourself back to sleep but it just hasn't been working. Mostly because I give in after a few minutes because I know if I go get you, I can have you back to sleep in 10 minutes. Here's the biggest problem with that: mommy doesn't go back to sleep! It takes me anywhere from 30-40 minutes to fall back asleep. When you are waking up two or three times a night, this means I'm not sleeping very much at all! (And daddy wonders why I want to go to bed at 9 every night!)

I'm begging you little man, please start sleeping through the night again. I'm honored that you wake up and miss me in the middle of the night but I promise, if you sleep through the night, we have the whole day to play the next day! It not good to get in the habit of waking up multiple times a night, your future wife is not going to like that. And, I know you are not hungry because you eat plenty during the day! Now that you have no more excuses to wake up, I expect that you will be sleeping through the night with no problem.

Just in case you forgot what you look like when you sleep, here is a picture of when you used to sleep all night long. See how peaceful and happy you are!!
Love,
Your tired mommy

Play with me Bella!

Andrew is really getting around the house very easily all by himself now. His favorite spot is to go over to the back door and play with Bella who is on the other side of the door. As you can see, she really doesn't care that he is there and just wants me to let her in the house. Andrew still isn't crawling on all fours but he has perfected his army crawl!

TOUCHDOWN!

Super Bowl Sunday

We're getting ready to watch the big game today (I'm actually more excited about the commercials!). In case you were wondering, Andrew and I are cheering for the Arizona Cardinals, I decided it was time that they win a Super Bowl.

Sporting our Super Bowl wardrobe. I'm in red for the Cardinals and Andrew has his football shirt on!

Since the game comes on so late in the afternoon, we went to the park to kill some time.

YIPPEE! I get to watch my first Super Bowl!
