Is there snow yet?

There still isn't any snow in Tahoe but that doesn't stop us from going and having a great time! We went up with the Donnell family. Savannah and Andrew had a blast skiing together down the mountain. They were both surprised at how good each one was. It was really cute because they kept wanting to ski together all day.

In the afternoon, we ventured over to a festival that was going on. Little did I know what I was walking into....they were offering free lessons and snowboard demos for kids. I tried to say no but then they showed Andrew a Star Wars snowboard and I knew I had no choice. He now thinks he is a snowboarder.  Lord help me!
Still no snow but we don't care!
My little snowboarder!
The picture is creepy but we were in a red tent.  Andrew is so excited to be trying out a Star Wars snowboard.

Wine & Wishes - 2014

What is more fun than dressing up? Dressing up, going to the city and raising money for an amazing organization. We went with Jen and Brandon down to Treasure Island to attend the Make-A-Wish annual Wine and Wishes event. It is a great evening of wine tasting, food pairings and of course a live auction. We entered to win the raffle but sadly, we didn't win. We did have a great evening though and the night raised over $800,000 for children.

MLK Day show

Andrew's class performed a poem for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. They have been learning about him in school and Andrew was so excited to perform for the school. If you ask Andrew who Martin Luther King, Jr is he says: "He was a nice man who wanted everyone to be friends but someone didn't like what he said so they shot him and he died." Pretty accurate.

Exploritorium

For my birthday this year I wanted to go down to San Francisco.  The Exploritorium recently moved and we thought it would be fun to take Andrew and go on an adventure.  I was a little worried that he was still too young but I was wrong!  I loved all of the exhibits and you could see his little mind working trying to figure out how everything worked.  It was fun to see some of the same exhibits they had when I was a kid are still there.

Andrew and I being silly!
On the way home we stopped in Sausilito for a cocktail.  It was a beautiful day in the city!

Student Builder

Andrew was chosen as Student Builder this week. At assembly on Tuesday, Mrs. Fountain (the school principle) calls all of the Student Builders up on stage to receive their award. Andrew's favorite part about being student builder is that he gets to be at the front of the line all week long!

Happy New Year - Tahoe Style

My 2014 New Years Resolution: Start and end the year in Tahoe! We changed it up this year and instead of European New Years Eve we headed up to Tahoe with the DeShazer's and Macway's. One Week + Six adults and five kids = Fun Times! There wasn't a lot of snow around but we managed to have a blast sledding, skiing, hot tubing and playing.
No, this picture is not flipped.  Andrew thought it would be silly to write is name backwards!

Waiting for the fireworks to start.
Happy New Year from the entire crew!
Brian really wanted to learn how to snowboard.  I think after this, he may be second guessing himself!
Playing up at the Ritz
The Ritz had kid activities to do each day for the hotel guests.  We crashed the party on sock monkey day.  I figured we've spent enough on cocktails and food, we are like hotel guests!
