Fun at the zoo!

We took advantage of our season pass (and nice January weather) and went to the zoo this weekend. Andrew was in heaven! There were animals, trains, a gonlala (to us, it's a gondola) and lots of running around. Each time we go, he is more and more into the animals and seeing what they are all doing.

I just finished reading "Water for Elephants." It's not my normal book type but I LOVED it. Now I want to have an elephant as a pet. Brian said I could take a picture but we were NOT bringing it home.

While I was laying in bed blissfully this morning thinking that Andrew was sleeping in, Andrew was busy NOT sleeping. This is what I walked in to find....

The good news: He didn't pee on the bed and when I asked "WHAT DID YOU DO?!" He replied: "My diaper was wet."

Let's hope this isn't a trick he tries again. :)

Happy Birthday to Me!

I am such a lucky girl! I got to have two birthday parties this week!!

On Tuesday, Brian had to go to class so Jen and Grevin came over to help me celebrate. The boys were so excited that after having Mary's, we got to have cake! Brian didn't totally miss out on the celebration though, he brought home some bubbly (champagne) to toast with!

Imagine piano/bar/karaoke/jukebox/fun and you will have a Dueling Piano Bar! That is where we went on Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. I've been to these a few times before and they are so much fun. If you ever have the chance to go to one, I highly suggest it. We started the night off right by going down to the city in a limo! It was nice to just sit back and have someone else worry about the driving.

Yes, they made me go on stage because it was my birthday. I got to hold the harmonica while the guy played the piano. Thanks guys for the embarrassment!

Anyone want cookies?

Andrew has been showing a lot of interest in cooking lately. He wants to be in the kitchen anytime someone is making anything and of course, he wants to help! Today was a holiday from work so I decided we needed to make cookies. He LOVED helping and was very good at following directions. The only problem....I have 4 dozen cookies and nothing to do with them! Would anyone like some homemade chocolate chip cookies?

And now the best part, licking the beaters. Yeah, I know, raw eggs, he could get sick. I've been eating raw cookie dough for 30 years and I haven't gotten sick so I think I'll go ahead and take the risk!

(If you are wondering about the stickers on his cheek, we went to Oliver's this morning and they give kids stickers when you check out. He's only allowed to put them on himself so they end up on his cheeks and pants.)

Ski Trip!

Lots of snow in Tahoe = Ski Trip!! The DeShazer's joined us in Tahoe for an action packed weekend of skiing, sledding and fun. As usual, the only time the boys complained was when we told them they had to come in from playing in the snow (both big and little boys complained!!). I'm so glad that Andrew likes the snow so much. We're going to try skiing next year and I can't wait to see how well he does. Let's just hope he doesn't give us as much trouble as I gave my parents! :)

Santa brought a new dishwasher for the condo. The kids didn't care about the dishwasher but they loved the box!

He's still in his bed

He may be backwards but Andrew is still in his bed!

Andrew loves his new big boy bed. He gives us no trouble when we put him down for nap or bedtime. Sometimes I can hear him playing in there but he doesn't get out. When he's done sleeping, he either calls for us or I can hear him playing again. He waits for us to come in before he gets out of bed. Let's just hope this continues....
