Tahoe - Snow!!

This ski season started off early with lots of snow in November and it is not stopping! This last storm brought in over 10 feet of new snow. The timing was perfect because we had planned a trip up with my parents and Oma. I haven't seen this much snow in Tahoe in a long time. The snow by the cabin was higher than our heads on the path! We had a great weekend skiing, sledding, building snowman and relaxing. Thanks to Oma, mom and dad for a fantastic weekend and lots of great memories. Caution: picture overload! :)

Let's go on an adventure!

Neither rain, nor snow, nor gloom of night will stop us! This was Andrew and I's motto for last weekend. We started out our adventure on Saturday morning with the hope of arriving at the Colato's house. I didn't want to tell Andrew where we were going because there was a slight chance we were going to get turned around so I just told him we were going on and adventure! Once we were over the summit on 50 and I was confident we were going to make it, I told him we were on our way to see Jared and he was so excited.

We had a great weekend playing and catching up. A huge thank you to Scotty's parents for letting us come and take over your house. Andrew really enjoyed chasing the kitties!

Jared, Jake and Andrew
They threw all of the toys out of the box so they had room to play inside!
A big tub and bubbles = FUN!
On Sunday it was time to go back home. When we woke up, it was snowing! Andrew thought it was so cool, I thought "this is going to be an interesting drive home!" After looking up the road conditions, I decided not to waste anytime and get an early start. Things started off really well. We filled up the car with gas, turned on the DVD player and started on another adventure. We made it up and over the Kingsbury Grade and into South Lake Tahoe. I thought that it was going to be smooth sailing from there. We drove into Meyers and 3 hours later, we were still there! We left Ali's at 9am and at 12:30 we had only gone a little over 30 miles! Oh well, Andrew and I had plenty of food, water and DVD's to watch so we were set!

Andrew the super trooper!

Views from the car:
After 8 hours, watching the Cars movie 3 times, and 2 leapfrog DVD's we made it home. Andrrew was a super trooper. He never complained (well, he did want to get out once when he saw kids playing in the snow) and we never got out of his carseat the entire time. Thanks to Ali and Scotty for a great weekend. It is one I will not forget!!

Happy "Pi" Day

Pi = 3.14
March 14 = 3/14
Therefore, March 14 is Pi Day!

And what better way to celebrate then to have pizza pi and chocolate pi! We met with the DeShazer's and their friends the Parish's to celebrate. I think this may be my new favorite holiday!
Such happy boys!

Having their pizza pi picnic with Zippy

The boys quickly figured out that Zippy would share with them! Before he knew it, he has 3 little monkeys helping him eat his pie.

Happy Pi Day!

Jen's Sip and See

Champagne + Baby Zoe = Sip & See Time!! We had Baby Zoe and Jen's family and friends over today for a Sip and See. These are much more fun than showers. They include cocktails and a baby to oogle over. :) Little Zoe was the perfect princess and just slept and hung out the whole time. Thank goodness that Jen got a lot of pink today because poor little Zoe didn't have any pink on her today! She did have ruffles so I guess I can accept it. :)

Brian's Marathon

Andrew and I are so proud of Brian today. For the last couple of months, Brian and Craig have been training to run the Napa Valley Marathon. That is 26.2 miles! Today was the day and they both did great. To add to the stress of running 26.2 miles, it was raining the entire time. Laying in bed last night and listening to the rain come down made me wonder what Brian was going to say in the morning but when the alarm went off at 4:30am (no that is not a type-o!) we all got up and headed over to Napa. We saw the boys off and then met up with them again at mile 9 to cheer them on. Then Theresa and I had to wait until they got to the finish line so we decided to go to breakfast. We made it to the finish line and were there to great the guys and they came across. Great job guys!
Pasta dinner the night before the big run.

Smiling boys at the start of the race.

And they're off....26.2 miles to go.

Waiting at mile 9 for the boys to run by.

Here comes Brian

Yeah, he made it!

26.2 miles later...
