Football focus

I don't think Brian wants me to watch football with him anymore. Like most girls, I have lots of questions. The only problem is...they aren't "normal" questions. Here are a couple of the things I asked this weekend:
  1. Has anyone ever died playing football?
  2. If the quarterback, and the back-up quarterback and the back-up to the back-up quarterback all get injured and can't play during the game, does the game end or can someone else step in and play that position?
  3. Do the players take their own uniforms home to wash them or does the team take care of that? Those are some serious grass stains that will need to be washed out.
  4. Or....do they get a new uniform at each game? (I'm pretty sure the answer to that is no!)
  5. Did Motorola give the NFL all of the headsets that you see the coaches wearing for free?
  6. Does each stadium have their own x-ray machine or does each team have a portable one that they travel around with?
Rarely do I ask a question about a play that just happened or a ruling on the field. Why should I care about those things when there are clearly more pressing matters that need to be addressed!

Explain this to me....

I'm a little confused about organic clothes. I get the whole organic food idea, it's better for you, not full of chemicals and pesticides, etc. I understand how it works and why there is a demand for that type of item. What I don't understand it organic clothes.

While I was shopping at Target today I needed to get Andrew some bigger onesies. There I was looking at all the various onesies trying to figure out the differences between them all. Some were tag less, some had more snaps then others, they had different styles of neck openings. And here I thought a onesie was a onesie!

OK, back to the organic issue. What exactly is organic about the clothes? Was the cotton grown organically, is the packaging organic, did the person who sewed the onesie have an organic lunch? What exactly certifies a non-food item as organic? And...if I wash these organic clothes in non-organic laundry detergent, are the clothes now non-organic?

4 months

Dear Andrew,

Wow, you are 4 months old today. Every month I keep saying I can't believe how fast time has flown by and how big you are getting but it is true. I hardly can remember my little 5 pound baby anymore!

This was a big month for us; you started going to daycare and I started back at work. For the most part, it is going very well. Gina says you are the happiest baby and she enjoys having you. When I drop you off each morning you are all smiles and daddy says you are in a great mood when he picks you up in the afternoon. So far, we're doing great with our morning routine because I haven't been late to work yet! Hopefully we'll win the lottery soon and mommy can stay home and play with you or at the very least hire a cleaning lady!

Your laugh is absolutely infectious. Whenever you start laughing, everyone around can't help but laugh too. You think that everything is funny and that everyone deserves a smile from my little man. You also like to show your tongue off which is just adorable. The innocence and joy that your face shows is just amazing. Your laugh is all I need to put a smile on my face and melt my heart.

You are such a happy and carefree baby. You love to go places and see new things but you are also quite happy staying at home and playing with your toys. We introduced you to your bouncey this month and it has been quite the hit. Looking in the mirror and trying to grab the toys have been your challenges this month. You haven't quite figured out that you can jump in it but I'm sure that is only a matter of time.

Things you like: drooling!, talking naps in your swing, eating your hand and burp rags, grabbing the toys on your play mat, sitting in your big boy chair, sleeping through the night.

I love you drool monkey,
Mom

Just like daddy

Last weekend was the end of deer season in Sonoma County so Brian went hunting on Friday and Saturday. Andrew wanted to show daddy his support so he sported his camouflage. He also managed to "hunt" Bella's stuffed deer in the backyard. Brian came home empty handed...the deer have escaped again!

It's bed time

Exactly when did I become the type of person who goes to bed at 8:42pm and is excited about it! Andrew is down for the night, Brian is out with a friend and as soon as I finish this blog, I'm putting Bella in her home, brushing my teeth, getting into bed and reading my book. My goal is to be sound asleep by 10:00. There used to be a time when I would just be getting into the shower and getting ready to go out to a party but not anymore. Oh how the years have changed.

My window was foggy...that's my excuse!

You can definatley tell that Fall is quickly approaching. This morning when Andrew and I were leaving the car was all wet and there was fog on the windshield. As I'm sure most of you do, I started driving before the window completely cleared. I could see just fine....or so I thought.

As we're driving down the street I see a dark figure about 4 feet tall standing on the side of the road in the bike lane. I start slowing down because I think that it is a child who wants to cross the stret. I'm getting closer to this "kid" and almost at a compete stop when I realize I am stopping for a garbage can! I quickly look in all of my mirrors, realize that no one has seen what I've done and drive away! Maybe next time I'll wait for my windshield to completely defrost before I start driving.

Good Morning Andrew!

Andrew is such a happy baby in the morning. Today, I didn't even know he was awake until I went in his room to check on him and he was in his crib smiling and laughing away!

*Good morning Mom!*

*Yesterday morning, getting ready for daycare*
