Lunch with the ladies

Andrew took myself, Grandma Darlene and Great Grandma Wing out to lunch today. We had a great time visiting with Great Grandma Wing and Andrew loved terrorizing, I mean checking out, her apartment! Great Grandma Wing thought ahead and had a couple of stuffed animals that made noise out for Andrew to play with which was very nice. When we dropped Great Grandma off after lunch, Andrew put on a show smiling and laughing for everyone that we passed. Andrew sure loved showing off and the residents loved playing with him!

Great Grandma Wing has the best stuffed animals!
*As a side note: Great Grandma Wing is 98 years young! She is doing fantastic and is in excellent health. She gets around all by herself; no walker, cane or wheelchair for her! Since I had Andrew's stroller, we were allowed to ride the elevator today. If I didn't we would have had to walk up the three stories to her apartment because that is what she prefers!!

Happy Anniversary

Brian and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary yesterday. We dropped Andrew off at daycare in the morning and then headed out to the coast. We spend the day exploring the coast and then had a great lunch over looking the ocean. Brian drove us out to a super secret beach and there wasn't anyone else there. It was nice to walk around and not have a bunch of dogs and people there. The tide was really far out so it made exploring the coast line really fun. There was a ton of starfish, muscles and sea creatures to poke at! Last night we dropped Andrew off with Lee and Darlene and then went to dinner at Nicolino's, our favorite restaurant in Cotati. It was a great day even though the coast was a little chilly!

Good thing I had my Gorilla pod to take pictures!

There were muscles everywhere since the tide was out

It was a little foggy but still a great day!

12 months

Dear Andrew,

I can clearly remember the first time I held you in my arms. After waiting 9 months to meet you and going through 32 hours of labor, my life changed forever. No one can prepare you for the feeling you will feel the first time you hold your baby. You were so perfect; the best gift that God could have ever given to us.

We have had quite an adventurous year. You have amazed me every day with your growth, development and curiosity for the world. You have taught me to slow down and enjoy every moment of the day and explore the little things we so often take for granted. Laundry baskets have turned into forts, empty boxes make great drums and lights and fans are the most amazing invention. You bring a smile to my face every day and for that, I will always be greatful.

You have really become much more verbal this month. You can say "uh oh" and try to call for Bella when she's not at the back door. You will talk to anyone who will listen and just talk louder to the people who are ignoring you. I have no clue what you are trying to tell us but you sure have a lot to say.

You still have very little interest in walking even though we practice every day. You prefer to get down on all fours to zoom around. You're quite quick so I guess you don't see the point in doing anything else. Oh well, someday you'll get there.

I can't tell you enough how much I love you and am so happy that you are mine. Even though you are a year old today, you are still my baby. I can only hope that we enjoy this next year as much as we have enjoyed the last one. I can't wait to see what new adventures the world has in store for us.

Love Always,
Mom
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always...
as long as I'm living,
my Baby you'll be!

Happy Birthday Andrew!

We had a super fun airplane birthday party for Andrew today! We made signs that said "Little Wing Airport" for the entrance, the front door said arrivals and the back of the door said departures. Everyone put their gifts for Andrew in "Baggage Claim" and the food was served in the "Andrew's First Birthday" terminal where flight # DWA-001 was now boarding. Dusty Wing Airlines sure knows how to through a party!!

We had a great time celebrating and visiting with our family and friends. Andrew is a lucky boy to have so many people come and party with him. Thank you to everyone who helped me get ready for the party and to everyone who came to help us celebrate.

Let the party begin!

Party at Gina's!

The birthday celebrations have begun for Andrew. Yesterday, he had his birthday party at daycare with all of his friends. Gina ordered pizza for the kids and they had cupcakes to celebrate. When I came to pick Andrew up, all the kids were telling me "Andrew's turning 1" and singing to him. I have a feeling Andrew is going to get spoiled the next couple of days!

Oakland Zoo

Gma and I took Andrew to the Oakland Zoo today. Andrew loves the zoo and seeing all of the animals. It is so much fun watching him get excited and exploring. Trying to get Andrew to look at the camera was a wasted effort as we couldn't get him to stop looking at all of the animals!

I'm a turtle!

The zoo also has a section with rides and games for the kids. Andrew wasted no time getting into the airplane! He was too small to ride it but they were nice enough to let him sit inside.

Going for a train ride.
